Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), is a society set up by the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India in 1991, with the objective of encouraging, promoting and boosting the Software Exports from India.

STPI maintains internal engineering resources to provide consulting, training and implementation services. Services cover Network Design, System Integration, Installation, Operations and maintenance of application networks and facilities in varied areas ranging from VSATs to ATM based networks.

Process development is based on the Quality Management System, which STPI also adheres to in the form of ISO 9001 certification for own process.

Special Incentives Offered

  • All the imports to STP units are duty free.
  • STP units are exempted from payment of Income Tax for a block of five years in the first eight years of its operation under Section 10
  • A and 10B of Income Tax Rules.
  • STP units are entitled to sell the computer software in Domestic Tariff Area(DTA) are entitled for the benefits like levy of excise duty and reimbursement of Central Sales Tax (CST).
  • 100% Foreign equity is permissible.
  • Computer System in STP units are allowed for training purposes within the premises of STP unit.
  • Capital invested by foreign entrepreneurs know how fees , royalty, dividend, etc. can freely repatriated after payment of income taxes due on them if any.
